Sil-Braze Fittings

Sil-Braze, or Silver Brazing pipe fittings are some of the most popular fittings in Marine applications. For Navy applications, the most common mil-spec for silbraze fittings is MIL-F-1183. Typically made of bronze, these fittings utilize a brazing process to create a permanent seal between the pipe and the fitting. This process starts by inserting a silver-based brazing alloy ring into the socket end of the fittingand inserting the pipe into the joint. The joint is then heated to melt the brazing material into the gap between the pipe and fitting. This creates a strong leak-proof connection. These connections are corrosion and heat-resistant, which makes them ideal for Marine, Navy, and Industrial applications. Contact an expert at Tork Systems for more information.
